The mother of Virtual Chains

Aurora is a Virtual Chain built on NEAR. The first of many. It’s, at the same time, the sandbox and the proof of the robustness of the parent protocol. It’s a smart contract - probably the most complex that exists - that is also an Ethereum Virtual Machine, providing a turn-key solution for developers to operate their apps on an Ethereum-compatible, high-throughput, scalable and future-safe platform, with low transaction costs.

Launch your own ecosystem
Quickly establish a dynamic, EVM-compatible environment, leveraging Ethereum tooling to foster a thriving, community-driven network.
Decentralize your product
Ensure trustless security, transparency, and user autonomy by eliminating single points of failure and embracing open governance.
Expand revenue stream
Access new income channels through Aurora’s cross-chain capabilities and Near integrations, such as staking, yield generation, and liquidity pooling.
Token utility optimization
Set your own token as the chain’s base currency. Gas fees and network costs are paid directly in your token, ensuring ongoing utility and placing it at the core of your ecosystem’s economy.
Customization needs
Select from gas abstraction, permissions, DEX integration, intents, oracles, and fiat onramps—configure your stack and be fully operational from day one.
Compliance enabler
Implement compliance-ready frameworks (KYC/AML) to meet regulatory standards, safeguard legal integrity, and build long-term trust.

The big picture
An Ethereum-compatible scaling solution

The Aurora environment consists of the Aurora Engine, a high performance EVM—Ethereum Virtual Machine—and the Aurora Bridge, facilitating trustless transfer of ETH and ERC-20 tokens between Ethereum and Aurora, within a great user experience.

Aurora exists and is operated as an independent, self-funded initiative, but will continue to leverage the shared team DNA and continually evolving technology of the NEAR Protocol. The governance of Aurora will take a hybrid form of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization—the AuroraDAO—complemented by a traditional entity which will hold one of several seats in the AuroraDAO.
